Ministries @ Grace

Administration Ministry
This ministry is responsible for the daily functions of the Church, which include the front office and general administrative support for the Pastor and each ministry.

Benevolence Ministry
This ministry is an extension of the Deacons’ Ministry and is purposed with the management of emergency funds that support individuals and families in times of crisis and personal hardship.     

Black Culture and History Ministry
This ministry is responsible for the celebration and preservation of African American history with the purpose to educate and acknowledge our past; preserve our present; and empower generations yet to come.

Bread for Life Ministry
This ministry provides food and other necessary items and works with local food banks to support families in need.

Children, Youth, and Young Adult Ministry
This ministry serves to bring young people closer to Christ through prayer, ministry, and fellowship. It includes the following:

  • The Childrens Ministry (ages 3-11) is dedicated to the biblical, education and worship experiences of our young treasures through lessons and activities that are conducive to the age of each child.
  • The Youth Ministry (12-17) is dedicated to the spiritual growth of teens moving toward young adulthood.
  • The Young Adult Ministry (18-35) provides a safe space for conversations and fellowship for young adults to discuss contemporary and relevant topics that build each in the faith.

Christian Education Ministry
This ministry inclusive of all ages. It serves as the teaching ministry of the Church and includes Sunday Schools, Bible studies, and Vacation Bible School.

Communications and Media Ministry
This ministry is responsible for the effective communication of Church events and programs through various mediums, including photography, video, print, and web, to reach local and global audiences. It provides support for audio & visual, computing, broadcasting, recording, and visual technology for church programs and services.

Williams/Sellers Community Garden Ministry
This ministry works to plant, grow, and cultivate produce for the purpose of reducing food shortage within the church and among the people in the surrounding communities.

Compassion and Care Ministry
This ministry guides bereaved families through the process of making final arrangements for loved ones and is available for prayer with the family and providing spiritual help to accept God’s will.

Culinary Ministry
This ministry is responsible for providing culinary support for church events throughout the year. They train volunteers in the proper use of the kitchen, which include materials, food sanitation, cleanliness, health department issues, etc.

Deacons Ministry
This ministry comprises both men and women who are ordained to serve through tending to the needs of members while promoting spiritual harmony. They are responsible for caring for the physical needs of the congregation so the Pastor can concentrate on the spiritual.

Evangelism and Outreach Ministry
This ministry takes God’s Word into the community by proclaiming the Gospel of salvation of Jesus Christ, both within and outside the church, while training others on how to effectively share their faith, so that those who are lost will be found. This ministry also serves to engage people  from the point of contact with prospective members through to discipleship. It also provides support for those serving abroad, including our sister church, the Grace Temple Baptist Church in the Philippines.

Event Planning and Flower Ministry
This ministry is responsible for the planning, facilitation, execution and support of all special events associated with the Church, and ensures that the church is appealing and displays an inviting atmosphere with flowers and decorations.

Facilities and Safety Ministry
This ministry makes sure that God’s house is publically presentable. They provide a safe, clean, and functional environment ensuring that the Church buildings and grounds are maintained and repaired as necessary. They are also responsible for developing security measures, policies, procedures, and emergency plans to assure each member and guests are safe from any harm.

Greeters Ministry
This ministry is responsible for extending greetings with a gracious heart, warm smile, kind words and a handshake, as people enter and exit the church building.

Health Ministry and Crisis Management Team
This ministry exists to raise awareness of ongoing health concerns and disparities. It is also responsible for managing the Church’s response to national health crisis whenever they arise.

Married Couples Fellowship
This fellowship serves as a forum for strengthening marriages by sponsoring events and forums that deal with real life issues affecting marriages.

Mens Ministry
This ministry provides opportunities for men to grow in their spiritual walk and knowledge of God; to be strengthened as disciples of the Christian faith; and to achieve a better understanding of fulfilling the particular role they have in their families, church, and community. It hosts the mens’ breakfasts and other events.

Music and Arts Ministry
This Ministry exists for the glorification of God by discerning the flow of the Holy Spirit through artistic expressions for the purpose of engaging the body in preparation to receive the Word of God through the following:

  • The Male Chorus comprise of men who serve to sing praises to the Lord.
  • The Mass Choir is a compilation of all choirs ministering a unified sound to usher in the presence of the Lord through song.
  • The MIME Team ministers the Word of God through the art of interpretative movement set to music using hands and bodies.
  • The Praise Team facilitates the worship experience by creating an atmosphere where the Lord is central and enjoins people into a celebration through the Holy Spirit.
  • The Praise Dance Teams offers worship to the Lord through the expressions of dance and liturgical movement from youth to adults.
  • The Youth Choir represent young people who love to sing and share their musical gifts as a worshipful expression of their faith.
  • The Drama Team utilizes people’s God-given talents to bring Scriptures to life through creative and performing arts expressions, with a willing spirit and evangelical heart.

Prayer Ministry
This ministry undergirds all aspects of the church, as it encourages members to grow in loving fellowship through a meaningful life of prayer. It seeks to follow the teaching of Jesus that lead them into a personal relationship with the Lord.

Public Relations and Marketing Ministry    
This ministry is responsible for maintaining the Church’s brand as well as developing materials that highlight events and services.

Scholarship Ministry    
This ministry is responsible for helping students financially during their college years. Seniors’ Ministry This ministry involves members aged 60 and older, who gather for fellowship, discipleship, and activities that inspire, educate, inform, entertain, and foster a Christian community.

Singles Fellowship
This fellowship sponsors events for single church members and serves to help unmarried members to realize their fullness and completeness of a life in Christ.

Spiritual Guidance Ministry
This ministry provides Bible-based, Christ-centered, counseling and support for both, members and others. It is designed to assist individuals toward spiritual wholeness in various areas of life, including pre-marital and marriage, parenting, health, substance, abuse, grief, etc.

Stewards Ministry
This ministry directs the business and financial affairs of the Church. They maintain responsibility for ensuring the church operates in a safe, secure and compliant manner, as well as, handling the accounting of tithes and offerings, property purchases and upkeep, and managing ministry budgets.

Transportation Ministry
This ministry provides safe and convenient pick-up services for individuals who seek to attend Sunday worship services and do not have access to other modes of transportation.

Ushers Ministry
This ministry welcomes congregants to the church and assures everyone is seated comfortably and the climate remains conducive for worship. They are responsible for directing the entry and flow of givers, making certain items that need to be distributed are in their proper places, and other direction as necessary.

Womens Ministry
This ministry exists to meet the spiritual and wholistic needs of women through bible study, activities and fellowships geared towards their needs.
